More than 60 people engaged in the arts make an exhibition in the village of Mels. Lingering between cities such as Zurich and Chur is meant as well as taking a short rest on the path of life. Because the Cultural Summer of Mels makes both possible: Contemplativeness far from the fast-paced, urban daily life and inspiring reflections about one’s own existence.
The MIGROS Management censors ART
The MIGROS Management of the Pizolpark censors ART on the occasion of the Cultural Summer Mels 2007.
On Monday morning, May 14, 2007, the MIGROS manager ordered that all 11 cloths with texts by the Zurich artist Georges Wenger be taken down. This scandalous intervention happened without the artist having been advised beforehand. The cause for that censorship were 4 phrases about the subject fast food and McDonald's. In protest, the two artists Liliane Eberle and Georges Wenger stopped the exhibit that same day. We are sorry for that.
